Would you watch a show called Kill Miroku, Sango, Kagome, and Shippou depicting how various assassins, hitmen, mercenaries, and murderers demonstrate lethal yet fun ways to kill those four liars, hypocrites, and losers?

A. Yes! I enjoy seeing Miroku, Sango, Kagome, and Shippou getting killed!
B. Maybe. It sparks interest seeing how those four die horrific deaths.
C. No! That would not make for good television!

  1. C. Because I don’t share the intense burning hatred for those characters that you seem to have. It happens in a lot of fandoms – sometimes characters get disproportionate amounts of hate. While sometimes some characters do have understandable reasons why people might hate them (Jar Jar Binks being a racial stereotype and unfunny), others might wonder just why you’re so mad at these characters.

Seriously, this post lacks any sort of context to explain why you’re mad at Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo (who are all main and supporting characters in Inuyasha). You need to go into more detail as to why you think they’re terrible (even if they’re protagonist characters). There’s just ZERO context for a survey.
    .
It also stands out here because site founder James Daniel Walsh got his start in blogging with a series called STOP THE HATE, where he defended people both real and fictional from disproportionate amounts of hate. He defended Superman, he defended the Ewoks, he defended people the right-wing talking heads demonized, he defended Internet reviewers who were getting hateful comments based on their appearance or their not liking a movie the commenters did.

So, lacking any context or explanation as to why you hate these four fictional characters enough to imagine fanfics where they die horribly, this comes across as just the sort of disproportionate hatred that James used to speak out against with his STOP THE HATE series.

    1. Thanks for your comment and feedback. Actually, I did make demotivational posters revolving around Miroku, Sango, Kagome, and Shippou. I know I should have referenced these in the survey, but I hope these contextualise how much I cannot tolerate them.
