Before I get into the poem, I have a bit of an announcement. I realize it’s downright vulgar to post something like this considering the theme of the poem, but I wanted to share this while it’s timely. For those of you who didn’t see it, I actually appeared in Some Jerk with a Camera’s recent Back to the Future video. If you want to see it, here it is: http://channelawesome.com/some-jerk-back-to-the-future-the-ride-part-iii/

Now that we’ve had a little comic relief, onto the main course:

I’ve seen your face

But I’ve never heard your voice

You left this world before I ever got to know you

Would you have given me some silly nickname?

Would you have given good Christmas presents?

If stayed the night at your house

Would you have let me stay up late?

I don’t know if you would have liked me as a kid

I was a brat and a twerp

I probably would have disrespected you

Tho I bet you would have been nice to me anyway

And I’m sure I’d come to love you

I have met your daughter

And known her my entire life

And she turned out wonderful

I don’t know if I’ll ever meet you

But you left behind a great legacy.
