  1. A lot of the fan edits that have come out in recent years have seemed motivated by some agenda-driven spite, so it’s nice to see that there are some created out of a desire to improve on a flawed production. The edited Hobbit is probably the one that most interests me.

  2. I’m not surprised at all that some of these fan edits exist. Everyone agreed that the Hobbit trilogy was overly padded with all this extra stuff, and didn’t really need to be a trilogy (the original was just one book, after all).

    Sounds like ‘Finest Hour’ is so good the studios should make an offer to the creators to purchase it and distribute it.

  3. I can’t imagine how many fan edits of movies out there exist. I can definitely see the appeal as some of them can actually fix some problematic movies (The fan made “Ulysses Cut” of Waterworld definitely proves that).
