This “What if Character was in This Scene/Episode/Story” meme originally belongs to MagicalKeyPizzaDan and is dedicated to all of my friends, fellow artists, and fans who admire the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Jason David Frank’s tenure as Tommy Oliver during the show’s run as well as his stint in his second karate instructional video within the Power Rangers franchise, and The Splendid Seven consisting of Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran. Sit back, relax, and revel in how Jason David Frank would have been happy to have Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran return as his guest students in 1996 back when he was a young adult and when the seven Yokai warriors grew as martial artists.
Jason David Frank has struck again and so have Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran when they were children. This time they are going to take their martial arts skills to the desert, and it is going to get bigger than ever. Furthermore, the moves that Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran are going to demonstrate to Sensei Frank’s students are also going to be more elaborate than before.
We take ourselves back to January 30, 1996, which was the date The White Ranger Kata was released to video, and Jason David Frank was 22 years old during filming. While Sensei Frank is training his students, seven Yokai martial artists return in their respective martial arts attires. They are 14-year-old Sesshoumaru, 13-year-olds Shuran and Inuyasha, 12-year-olds Hakkaku and Ginta, 10-year-old Ayame, and 8-year-old Shunran. 14-year-old Sesshoumaru and 13-year-old Inuyasha have been competing in junior Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Jujitsu, and Judo tournaments ever since they were 5 and 4 years old respectively and have become black belts at such a young age. 13-year-old Shuran has started competing in Professional Wrestling while never forgetting about his roots in Jujitsu. 12-year-old Hakkaku continues to grow as a Muay Thai practitioner and has found himself competing in junior Muay Thai tournaments. 12-year-old Ginta continues to grow in his skills in Lethwei and Sanda and is competing in junior Sanda tournaments. 10-year-old Ayame has acquired her black belt in Nippon Kenpo and has found herself competing in junior kickboxing tournaments. 8-year-old Shunran has been growing as a Capoeira practitioner while also competing in junior Shaolin Kung Fu tournaments. Sensei Frank introduces Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran to his students, for they first met him a year ago, and tells them about the martial arts they have been practicing ever since they were little children. In return, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran express excitement and enthusiasm to partake in Sensei Frank’s White Ranger Kata class.
Once again, Sensei Frank wants to see how much Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran have been growing in their moves. He even sees that the seven Yokai martial artists continue to grow in formidability, precision, passion, and enthusiasm. He does this by doing a roll-call and the attacks he has in store for them. Shunran throws him a butterfly kick, axe kick, machine gun kick combo. Ayame throws him a reverse punch, hook, jab combo. Ginta throws him a knee strike, elbow strike, knife-hand combo. Hakkaku throws him a shin kick, shoulder strike, head-butt combo. Shuran throws him a palm strike, shoulder check, joint lock combo. Inuyasha throws a Superman punch, Hammer fist, spinning back kick combo. Sesshoumaru throws him an axe kick, lunge punch, leopard blow combo. Sensei Frank compliments all seven young Yokai martial artists for their continued dedication to their martial arts skills. In return, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran continue to stay with the class and even listen to Sensei Frank’s various flashbacks when he was a child just like them.
If I were in Sensei Frank’s position, I would attest that Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran have been growing so wonderfully as martial artists and as individuals. Moreover, I can only wish them all the best in their wonderful growth and be proud of them.
