Greetings, Manic Fans.  Les here to talk a little bit about something that I find quite insulting:  Recorded salesmen.  Oh, and not just salesmen, but questionaires about service or statistics.  I’m serious.  When I answer the phone, and a voice comes on that isn’t live, I hang up within 10 seconds.  Here’s a hint to you telemarketers out there…..

I DON’T RESPECT A MARKETER WHO DOESN’T RESPECT ME!

or, to be more specific:

I don’t like it when a marketer doesn’t think my time is worth giving the personal touch to.

I don’t know who though this was a good idea, but I find it hard to believe that there are people willing to stay on the line and give answers to someone who was too damned lazy to call them personally.  When did we, as a society, get so tied up to technology that it became alright to have the computer do our work for us?

Now, don’t get me wrong…I love computers as much as the next nerd, but I don’t think it should do my job for me(And with machines that can turn any piano into a player piano that uses digital downloads….it’s completely possible…).  I enjoy my job, and don’t want to cede it to a computer program.  I want to take care of my customers personally, and that’s what I expect from those who’d have my business.

So, until these telemarketers start doing their work again, I’ll continue to hang up on the recordings, and giving my business to those who still take pride in their jobs.

How about you, my friends?  Does this aggravate you too?  I’d love to hear your opinions on this.  Peace.
