This movie is an underrated gem. I think that a lot of people didn’t really get it because they were unfamiliar with what it was going for and the style of film it was trying to homage. Was it perfect? No, it definitely had a few flaws that came from trying to “modernize” the Marx Brothers formula (the more blatant sex jokes, for example). But it was a great tribute piece and a hilarious film in its own right.
I didn’t mind the more blatant sex jokes, as I think the Marx Brothers would have made those if they could, but, like I said, it sometimes felt a little too close to the Marx Brothers. You can’t have someone else be Groucho. However, this is a very funny movie with some golden moments.

You have a point there. If the censors had been more lenient, I can see the Brothers being much bawdier.
