For anyone who might dismiss Manic Expression, who might say we’re not that big a site or we don’t get the huge hits of other sites, I’ve got a Second Opinion for you.

…Do you see what I did there? …Because his name, is, uh, Second Opinion…and I want them to also reconsider their opinion…and form a second one. Yep.

For those of you who have kept up with Manic Expression in the last two years you’ll recognize the Second Opinion. His blogs and videos are some of our most popular. He’s been awarded Outstanding Content more times than I can count (because I’m lazy). And now he’s moving up in the world. I’ll let him tell you all about it in this excerpt from a recent blog:

“I’ve been hired by Channel Frederator to make videos for them. It’s a job based on ad revenue, and I mostly still have to figure out how to get people to watch on my own, so while my “fanbase” is growing slowly, it can hardly be called my job. But it’s definitely now my #1 shtick as The Second Opinion. So what kind of videos did they hire me to make, after the two years I’ve spent experimenting with subjects? Why, the non-brony reviews of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, of course!”
My dream with this site was for us to do more than just post our videos and blogs here and be a self contained community. Too many of you have too much talent for that. I wanted to see Manic Expression become a launching pad for people, a place for them to safely grow as artists, refine their craft, and then find work doing what they love.
Some of our members have reached such levels of success, and they don’t always stick around at Manic Expression when they take off. However, Second Opinion made clear in his blog that he’s not going anywhere. He says he likes being a part of the team, even if he’s not (as he put it) “a main character in this sitcom.” There I must disagree with him.
Manic Expression has seen the rise of some now big name Internet personalities: The ComicBook Cast, Decker Shado, Oliver Harper, Bright Eyes Long Lashes. Without a doubt they’ve left their stamp on this site. However, so has the Second Opinion. So have I. So has every one of you out there whose ever posted anything here at Manic. This community wouldn’t be what it is without every single one of you, and it always saddens me when someone decides to leave.
That Second Opinion has decided to stay, to continue on as a part of Manic Expression, says a lot about his character. He’s loyal, and he clearly believes in what we’re doing here. I’m very proud of him and all of his success, but I’m more proud of the person that he is.
