The Prince of Persia franchise, while not nearly as well known today as the likes of the Halo series or Elder Scrolls, it was a popular name way back when you could count the number of pixels on your screen. There have so far been two trilogies, with the second trilogy having a number of spin-offs, and even a live action movie. Today, however, the chance of seeing another installment in the series seems quite slim.
Suffice it to say that when the Prince came to the XBox360 and PS3 the franchise fell into decline with the removal of the unique free-form combat system introduced in the second trilogy, less than stellar plotlines and the aforementioned movie which, while successful, didn’t add anything new to the series as it simply copied the plot and title from the most well known Prince of Persia game – The Sands of Time.
