For about three quarters of a century the professional hockey scene in Montreal has been solely dominated by the Canadiens. But at two different points in their first 30 years as a pro hockey club they were not alone in Montreal. Six years after the departure of the Wanderers, the NHL introduced another franchise meant to share the Montreal scene with the Canadiens that would be housed in the newly built Montreal Forum; the Montreal Maroons.
