For about three quarters of a century the professional hockey scene in Montreal has been solely dominated by the Canadiens. But at two different points in their first 30 years as a pro hockey club they were not alone in Montreal. From before the inception of the Canadiens up to the NHL’s inaugural year, Montreal was also home to one of the greatest clubs in the early 20th century; the Montreal Wanderers.
