Hello and welcome to In Too Deep, where I over-analyse a certain section of pop culture.
So, new site. New start. Brand new opportunity to use my old blogs as filler so I don’t have to put in any extra effort. But of course that doesn’t mean I’m not going to write new blogs, far from it. So join me as I work out in a rambling blog what exactly I’m gonna do with this blog series in the future.
Well lets focus on the first thing: I’m probably gonna set up a Patreon account. Why? Solely for a blog I plan to write next month about the nature of internet creations along the lines of Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. This is mostly a way of doing research, but if I actually make money… Yeah I don’t actually plan to nor really want to make money, so I’m not too worried there really. If I do make some money however I’ll probably just use it to keep my blogs up on the web, maybe build a website. Not that it really matters. Anyway if you do want to give me money, feel free to click on the link and pledge to me. If a potato salad can make a lot of money, why can’t I?
So what is In Too Deep? Well, as the byline suggests, it’s a blog series where I over-analyse pop culture. I find something about it that interests me and dissect it for entertainment value. Whether it be working out if you’d want to send your kids to Hogwarts (you don’t), why My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is so popular, or whether Batman can be considered brave, my blog covers a variety of topics. Mostly off-the-cuff tongue in cheek stuff, such as revealing the terrifying truth behind Pokemon, or which Disney villains should never be given Death Notes. A simple little blog exploring various aspects of popular culture and how it relates and interconnects with each other. Irrelevant, but humorously so.
But for my older readers, a slight change from what’s come before. Now I plan to focus more on weekly or monthly series rather than random blogs. Starting with In Too Deep Into Marvel (looking at the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its affect on the world) I also plan to branch out into In Too Deep Into Doctor Who, In Too Deep Into Disney (primarily focusing on the Disney animated films in the first year, moving onto the live-action films in the second), In Too Deep Into Pixar and any other series that deserves my special attention. The reasons for doing this are solely for the fact that I enjoyed writing a bunch of themed blogs weekly back in 2013, so I plan to make a habit out of it. That doesn’t mean that the occasional blog won’t deal with something totally out of left field, or that I won’t also be touching on current affairs in the pop culture scene as well. That will still be happening. Just look forward to more interlocking series about big sections of pop culture all neatly joined together.
So is there anything else I need to add to the end of this? I begged for money I have no right to receive, I explained what my blog is and how it’s going to be formatted. That seems to be the gist of it. I’ll just go on to add that if anyone has any requests feel free to message me to them and I’ll see what I can do. Likewise I’m always up for a crossover if anyone’s interested, since they’re always fun to read and write. Look forward to more blogs in the future as I post on a semi-regular basis (in other words starting off with a lot, then petering out when I run out of back-issues for my blogs).
So there you have it. An introduction to my series. If you disagree with anything, or have anything to add, feel free to leave a comment. Till next time.
