DREAMcast?s Demotivational Anime & Manga Poster Competition 2012!

DEmotivational Posters have been the craze of internet parodies for many years now and although they are similar in concept to Internet MEME Pictures 
they differ because they have a particular style which capitalizes on the intent of the popular and original motivational posters often used in the common workplace

So…….what the hell does that have to dew with this “competition” you may ask&#
8230;okay…let’s explain how this is all gonna go down

Introduction

So the aim of the game is to make the most impressive Anime / Manga DEmotivation poster you can think of. Whether its humour based
, weird or just oozes AWESOMENESS for some reason, it needs to stand out and be particularly memorable to be hailed as the best of the bunch.

Personally, I have been making these DMP’s for fun for a while since back when I was just another forum post-er on various anime websites such as crunchyroll, MAL and even AnimeNFO so I can tell you I’ve seen a shitload of these before and I (as well as the other judges) will be looking for ORIGINALITY & CREATIVITY first and foremost and not just ready-made DMP’s done by other people from other sites…….not to say these are excluded btw….they are not…I am just telling you it would be best if you made something yourself from scratch

To give you an example…..about a year ago (when I was bored at my old shitty mundane J.O.B) I actually took the time and went through 3000 pages of DMP’s on the following link below just to pass the time and amuse myself……..this will give you an idea of what we are looking for in an Anime / Manga DMP

So for the record if I see any entries that I’ve already seen from the above thread or any overly popular one’s i have seen floating around the internet in general…..trust me, your chances of being top dog will be exceptionally less……SO BE ORIGINAL!

Instructions

Alright, so making your picture is really REALLY simple. The first and most important thing you will need is a picture / screenshot / scanshot of the image you want to use for your DMP.

Once you have that you can head on over to a demotovational generator site like http://diy.despair.com then upload your image there and enter your one or two phrases (either is acceptable) and voila you’ve made your first entry.

Of course there are tons of other DEmotovational poster making sites out there if you don’t like the one I posted above….as long as your site of choice uses a generator that sticks to the black background, white border DMP style and phrase(s) your good to go.

ONLY ANIME / MANGA TITLES CAN BE USED FOR YOUR ENTRIES. IF IN DOUBT, DO A SEARCH FOR YOUR SOURCE PICTURES TITLE ON ANIDB.NET OR MYANIMELIST.NET. IF THE TITLE DOES NOT COME UP ON EITHER OF THOSE DATABASES IT IS NOT CLASSIFIED AS ANIME OR MANGA. IN THE RARE CASE YOUR PIC IS NOT IN THOSE DATABASES YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVE THE PIC YOU USED IS FROM AN ANIME / MANGA TITLE SOME OTHER WAY AND YES KOREAN TITLES ARE CONSIDERED ANIME / MANGA!

For those who may ask….hey, why didn’t you guys use an Amazon.com gift voucher instead?

Well, that is a dumb question tbh because this is about ANIME & MANGA and to make sure we put money back into the industry we love we have decided to go with a retailer that is limited to such merchandise. If we went with a more flexible retailer such as Amazon you could just go and buy the twilight saga’s DVD and Book collection and that is not at all what we are about here……keep in mind this is a competition made for Anime & Manga fans by Anime & Manga fans.

The Wrap Up

It should be worth noting that even though there will be only ONE grand prize winner for this particular competition, our three favorite DMP’s will be featured on the front of the Planet Tyro group page for ALL to see up until the new year 2013!

This competition will obviously be good promotion for the group planettyro.com, a good chance to make new buddies and most importantly it’s gonna be enjoyable watching you guys try to one up each other with some great DMP’s
