Tokusatsu in review: Mighty Morphin power Rangers Season 1

The show that set off the fandom finally gets it’s day to be reviewed.
…Were the 90’s always this lame?

we’ll be going on hiatus for a few weeks due to real-life commitments, but we’ll be back in late september with mass Effect 3.

I have one rebuttal to your argument that there has never been a good body-swapping episode – Justice League Unlimited, “The Great Brain Robbery.”

Yeah, there is no denying that the first season of MMPR hasn’t aged that well, but it still has some enjoyable moments. The characters did get a bit of evolution from their stock portrayals early in the series, and even when Tommy became the central focus of much of the show, they still occasionally got a chance to shine. Also, I admit that I was one of those people who tended to look past the flaws of Zyu2 early on mainly because I was just happy to see the show going, but while the plots were dumb I still did like the monsters, Soccadillo and Rhinoblaster being two of my absolute favorites. At least Zyu2 did improve a bit when Zedd was introduced.

Also, let’s just hope that if Jason David Frank ever stumbles across this video, he doesn’t watch the credits. Still, nice shots fired.
