Hi ElegantMess. I love it! Here’s a book I’ve owned and read many times. JM Dillard really understands the Enterprise characters well, particularly McCoy and Spock. The atmosphere created around the “vampire” attacks is genuinely creepy and McCoy’s struggle to deal with the loss of Christine was absolutely heartbreaking(IN YOUR FACE, STEPHANIE MEYER!…this is how you generate emotional feelings in readers you HACK!)…sorry, digressed a bit…Bloodthirst is one of those novels that’s old enough that it was one of the Star Trek novels that was always on the bookshelf…until they’d written too many books for that to be practical and only put the latest novels out, instead. I cherished those older TOS stories. I particularly loved:

    The Entropy Effect
    The Vulcan Academy Murders
    Yesterday’s Son
    The IDIC Epidemic
    Final Frontier
    Strangers from the Sky
    Prime Directive
    Uhura’s Song
    The 3 Minute Universe
    The Final Reflection
    Doctor’s Orders
    The Pandora Principle

Great review, my friend. I look forward to your next one. Peace.

Funny enough, I *Think* Doctor’s Orders is in the “When I find my copy or a copy again, I’ll review it” pile. I loved it and, if it’s the one I remember, I have a soft spot for the author.

That is pretty awesome, Sci-Fi Vamps . . . yeah, I can get behind on that. And able to be creepy enough while having some softhearted moments, I am in for that. Overall, this was a pleasant and even though short review, nice work.
